Well, simply enough, my name is Tom.
I've always been a builder, fairly handy, maybe even a bit of a creative. I wouldn't be so bold to describe myself as an artist, though some kind folks have offered the complement on occasion.
I've had the great privilege of working with some pretty fascinating people on some truly unique projects. There have been a number of small business I've helped build and develop, a couple of partnership ventures I've been involved in, and countless clients whose projects have varied wildly.
It's been so much fun and I am so excited for what's to come!
Things. All sorts of things!
If it's something that I can figure out how to fix or build with the resources available, I'm into it.
Having worked for a few construction companies a lot of my experience comes from general residential trades. Floors, doors, roofs, and walls. If it's part of a home I either have had the opportunity to build it or am eager to give it a try!
Somehow, I've still never managed to get involved in a tile project... Oh, well. Soon enough I'm sure.
I'm only writing this one to keep with the theme!
I generally enjoy working in the shop or on design projects deep into the night. However, I absolutely love a demanding project that pushes me to take on extreme schedules. Nothing leaves you with a greater sense of pride in a job well done than finishing a project within the time constraints that would make most heads spin.
I've happily been calling the Oregon Coast my home since 2000. A few years at the University of Oregon were wedged in there but I maintained the characteristic webbed feet of a coasty.
Nothing more amusing than building a deck in the relatively chilly air of the Pacific Northwest in a t-shirt and having clients comment on this absurd behavior.
"If we waited on the weather we'd never get any work done."

Why work for yourself?
Why not get a stable job where the stress and the problems can be left at the office?
Why choose the responsibilities of managing projects, clients, and finances?
Why not choose the opportunity that allows you to express your creativity?
Why not give yourself the freedom to work with clients that you have a genuine connection with?
Why not love what you do and embrace the fact that every project and every day is a unique adventure?
